How Fear Can Stop Your Manifesting in its Tracks

Unfortunately, our nervous system can do the absolute most like getting the way of us manifesting our dreams. When fear and worry become your default setting, and can keep you in a loop of where doubting yourself can delay the future that you want to create. Vicious cycle. 

Fortunately, help is on the way. We are going to discuss how fear can keep you from manifesting your goals and accomplishing what you desire, and how to fix that problem with some easy to pull off techniques.

We Naturally Hunt for Danger

One of the pre-installed features of our subconscious mind is to be on the lookout for danger so we don’t die. Fearing what’s unknown in an uncertain scenario is a standard feature of our subconscious mind. It wants to avoid it to keep us safe— be it physically, mentally, or emotionally. 

When fear kicks in, your brain hits an invisible panic button. Suddenly your subconscious goes into: 

• Protection mode
•avoidance mode
• worst case scenario mode
•don’t try anything new mode
• don’t keep going mode
•loss of self-esteem and confidence

The fear of the unknown is scary. So is the fear of previous memories and experiences, and what we and other people tell us about things that haven’t even happened yet. Sometimes these negative influences can tell us why even bother, such as “I’m not good enough.” or “I’m broke. I don’t have the money to do that.” 

Shout out to all of the Overthinkers out there, like myself. Fortunately, for us, there are ways to use this to our advantage.

When negative wastes of your imagination come to the forefront of our thoughts, the parts of your brain that’s responsible for creating, having confidence, seeing opportunities to reach your goals, decision-making, motivation, and taking expired action log off. Good luck, remembering the password. This can cause you to feel mentally checked out, and not even want to try.

All of those things are responsible for manifesting your dreams and accomplishing your goals, by the way. Fear blocks manifestation because your brain can’t move towards a future it’s scared of. 

How Fear Keeps You Subconsciously Stuck

Not only is your subconscious mind always scanning for danger, but it’s scanning for evidence that matches your beliefs that what you believe actually is real. So if you are thinking foolishness about how things won’t work out or that you aren’t good enough, your brain will adopt those beliefs, and become a real hindrance and going after your dreams a real roadblock, holding up traffic in a direction towards the life that you want to have. It can only stop you from being the person who accomplishes your goals if you let it. 

Most manifestation blocks show up as:

  • Procrastination
  • Perfection
  • Overwhelm
  • Self-doubt
  • Fear of being seen/unseen
  • Fear of failure 
  • Fear of succeeding(believe it or not)

Luckily your fears, obstacles, and blockages can easily be overcome with identity work and positive reframing.

Popular Fear-based Beliefs and How to Flip Them

Taking time to analyze your fears is helpful in learning how they unnecessarily hold you back in order to move past them.

  1. “ I’m not good enough”

First off. Yes, you are. Comparison is the thief of joy. Other bread companies don’t worry about the other bread companies on the shelf. Everybody is focusing on their own bread, and it’s enough for everyone to eat. You are as good, and possibly better.

Shifted by building evidence on yourself:

  • Take smaller actions
  • Celebrate your wins
  • Improve skills
  • Acknowledge your strengths
  • Express gratitude
  • Make yourself a student of your goals

You’re subconscious updates by what we feed it. Feed it proof that you are progressing, and clap for yourself. Celebrating wins helps you to manifest more. Read my blog about it here

  1. “It’s too late.”

Another classic lie. People not only begin or start over at any age, but also succeed at going after their goals. I’m currently in my 40s. Things happen when they are meant to, and not a moment sooner. You are exactly where you are meant to be on your journey.

  1. “I don’t have time.”

We make time for the things that we want to, like binge watching a Netflix series. Set boundaries with people and activities that don’t align assess your schedule and figure out how to cut back in order to make some time. Even a 15 minute workout or working on a course for an hour is taking steps and making progress towards reaching your goals. 

Even when I thought I had no time, I wrote in my affirmations that I had the time to grow my brand. Then I started seeing ways to cut back on doing things that took time out of my day that didn’t align with building my brand. I also lost a little bit of sleep here now. I’m just keeping it honest with you.

  1. “I’m too busy helping others.”

For some, this is often viewed as people pleasing, dressed up as responsibility. Shifted with setting boundaries, communicating your goals, and remember that your dreams matter also. Anyone who loves you and respect you should be supportive of your dreams. If not, then send them to me. 

  1. “I don’t have either need.”

Here we go with that lack mentality. Lack manifest more lack. Shift your thoughts from what you don’t have by being grateful, and focus on what you do have. Even Mariah Carey said “imma do the best I can with what I got.” the more you focus on what you have, and what your goals are, you’ll begin to see opportunities and resources show up to help you reach your goals through the power of subconscious reprogramming. Not the Universe dropping a refurbished IPhone 12 to help run your Instagram out of the sky. 

When you focus on your dreams as if they exist, you rewiring your subconscious, and it starts believing that you have reached your goals. And then starts to look for proof that you have, and since you haven’t, you will begin to notice ways to manifest them. This often shows up as opportunities, events, resources, and things that you can do if you take action to help you get there. New Age teachers call it the Law of Inspired Action, but it’s just how our brains work.

You Can Still Work With Fear

Fear can keep you stuck. However, being afraid of not growing, accomplishing your goals, or getting out of your situation can also be a huge motivational factor to get you to the finish line. It takes the same energy to say “ I can’t.” than it does to fix your lips, and boldly say “I can!” why keeps you stuck while the other move forward. Only you don’t have to let fear control your narrative.
